When insulating also consider leaks around windows, doors and other openings.

If you are trying to cut noise and add insulation and your walls already have blown in insulation consider adding a layer of 1/2 sound board and a new layer of dry rock can be a great - cost effective answer.

To get an idea of the cost of adding insulation try the calculator at http://www.remodelestimates.com/calculators/intro.cfm?ver=6. No online calculator can replace getting a quote from a contractor after a site visit - but it is a good way to get an idea of the approximate cost
